Response to intervention (RTI) refers to an educational method used to provide early and systematic support to students who are struggling. The goals of RTI are to increase academic success through early intervention, regular and frequent progress checks, and research-based interventions. While easywaypaper.com does not have a single definition, there are certain elements that are consistent with how RTI works. Universal Screening Under RTI, all students receive an initial assessment. This assessment is designed to identify students are might be at risk for difficulties in school because of a lack of knowledge or skills in a particular area. Assessments are commonly focused on skills in reading. These assessments should also recognize the students' strengths. Cultural and linguistic differences should always be taken into consideration. Tiered Instruction Students who are considered at risk or struggling after the universal screening then move through a tiered curriculum. Each tier contains adapted and individualized interventions that will increase in intensity. The number of tiers involved varies from program to program as there is no official recommendation, but three tiers are the most common.
